In this video we will be showing you how to add subtitles or closed captions to your YouTube videos. Although there are several ways this can be done, this is the simplest and works with .SRT and all other compatible subtitle file types.
Simply follow these simple steps:
- Go to: www.YouTube.com
- Log-in to your account
- Locate your video
- Select ‘Edit’
- Select ‘Subtitle/CC’ from the upper right hand corner
- From the drop down menu select ‘Add new subtitles or CC’
- Select the language ‘English’
- Select ‘Upload’
- Locate your .SRT file and upload to YouTube.
Make sure you run through the video afterwards to check that everything aligns correctly and make any necessary edits before you hit the ‘publish’ button.
The method used here only includes uploading an already complete subtitle file. Check back for videos on how to make your own subtitles and closed captions using the YouTube subtitle function.
